DAY ONE – FORT COLLINGS

I sat at breakfast, looking out at the snow and ice glistening in the sun and remembered how many days were just like this when I was rearing my boys in Pennsylvania. Back then I didn’t have a direction, was so lacking in confidence and experience, and intimidated by everyone. Those days, gratefully, are over and now I’m ME.

I noticed a plumbers van parked outside. It said “Horse Tooth Plumbing.” Hmm. I wondered if Horse Tooth was the name of town nearby or originated from a fertile imagination.

My first excursion was to the Historic District and Ginger and Bakery coffee house. Both places were charming and pleasant. But another Uber driver made my day!! Her name was Heidi and she was originally from Sleepy Hollow. Washington Carver wrote about that part of the world when he was in Birmingham ENG. Who can forget Ichobod Crane and his ride, with spooky shadows and gusting winds and his terror. Heidi was pleasant and we had a good talk. She’s a nice lady and hope I get her again.

Tonight I’m going to an Open Mic, which should be fun. Yes, another bar, but I do them so well!!
