Talk about another ride on the Merry-Go-Round, the Bodacious Belles are doing it, in Beaufort NC.
Sure we females take good care of our healh and do lots of preventive medicals things, sure we form friendship groups for mutual support, but these ladies are doing much, much more than that!! THEY ARE OUT THERE. Their Gold Years are really golden.
In addition to this group, there is an international ladies group called Sweet Potato Queens. I have no idea where they came f rom but the message is clear. Seniors want to live, to be alive, to enjoy, to be visible, and to participate.
At last, senior females are heading civic committes, creating noise and being heard, and opening their own businesses. But more than that, they letting off steam, having fun, and being outrageous. It’s The Merry-Go-Round and they don’t care what people think.
They are having fun and making a difference. Check them out, gang. Good stuff. And there’s always room for other organisations. Maybe we can sprout a few more female groups to get out there.
