SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER?

Last Saturday was a busy day, with cleaning the bathroom, the kitchen, the living room, doing laundry, etc. Around 7 o’clock, I had to get out. So I organised a Circuit driver to pick me up and take me to the local grocery store.

I filled a few plastic bags with necessary items and opened the chocolate I felt I deserved, nibbling away. Chocolate has so many redeeming qualities. The Circuit vehicle pulled up to take me home. I got in and saw a senior lady in the seat in front of me. She introduced herself as Crystal and said she just ‘ had to get out of the house for a while’.

As we’re jiggling along toward home, I looked at her and said, “A shitty Saturday night, right?

“You got it!” she answered emphatically.

I mused. Here we are, two single seniors, grocery shopping on a Saturday night while all the bars and restaurants are chock o block with revellers.

“Ok, enought of this crap. Let’s exchange numbers and meet next Saturnight for drink. Okay?”

She whipped out her phone, I took mine out, she plugged in my number and called me.

When I got home I called her back and suggested 7:00 pm at Foxy Brown’s for drink and chat next Saturday. She agreed. So we’re on and I may invite another senior I know. Heck, a few drinks and we’re going to have a helluva good time.

No more boring Saturday nights.
