BUT I HAVE A DRIVER’S LICENSE

My son didn’t look me in the eye. His wife, Beth, dipped her head so her face wasn’t visible.

They were explaining to me why I should never, ever, drive a car in Fort Lauderdale.

My insides were roiling with protests, but I knew they were right.

Florida driver’s are not safe; Florida roads are not clearly marked, my reaction time is less than normal due to age; I’m used to driving on the other side of the road.

All of these facts were true, but I could feel rebellion rising up inside me.

My brother added to the argument that if he lived in Florida, he would not drive because when he was visiting, three times another driver put him in jeopardy of an accident, but he acted quickly and avoided a collision.

I visited my son in South Miami, taking two Ubers and two buses, and one metro rail. I didn’t mind the time because I had a book and amused myself on public transport without a problem. It took over 3 hours from door to door.

My son drove me home, from South Miami to my home in Fort Lauderdale. It took 45 minutes, door to door.

Am I impressed? Yes. Am I considering driving? Yes. The final decision is mine and I’ll put it off for a few months, but never to drive?

I don’t know the final answer to that yet. Maybe Yes, maybe No. I do have a Florida driving license.

Introducing Block Patterns

WordPress block patterns offer a powerful way to create predefined block layouts, enabling users to quickly design pages and posts with a consistent look and feel. These patterns are essentially collections of blocks that are pre-arranged and configured, which you can insert into your posts and pages.

Moreover, the WordPress community and theme developers are actively contributing to a growing library of block patterns, making it easier for users to find a pattern that suits their needs. Whether you’re building a landing page, a photo gallery, or a complex layout, there’s likely a block pattern ready to use. This democratizes design for non-technical users while offering developers a way to extend WordPress functionality and provide more options to their clients.
