DOES anyone else spend hours scrolling through their phones like me? I’m not searching for anything in partifcular, but I have to keep looking at screen after screen. Then I realize that an hour has passed and I jump up to do something which needed done immediately an hour ago.
AIMLESS scrolling is how I found about Shaq O’Neal. And Charles Barkley. I was vaguely aware tha they were professional basketball players, but didn’t actually know anything about them. Now I do. Shaq is a very generous fellow and my phone tells me how many times he spontaneously gives money away. And Charles Barkley is irreverent. His famous conversation about those Big Ol’ Women in San Antonio is priceless. These guys entertain me through my phone.
AND my phone is very intelligent. It knows I love beautiful clothes and there’s lots of companies which are determined to show me their stock. Sales at Saks, Bananan Republic, Neiman Marcus, and Nordstrom as well as a host of smaller companies keep popping up in front of me. In a weak moment, lured by photos of women running along a beach with flowing dresses fluttering in the wind, I ordered some summer stuff from a brand I wasn’t familiar with. When it arrived, it was junk. Cheap, nasty junk!! Stuff I would never buy and those dresses hang limply in the closet to haunt me.
AND I’m a savvy consumer but my phone tricks me. I swore I’d never order online again, but, after a few glasses of wine, I saw this mavelous offer from Chico’s. Each item was $4.99. Well, what can I say? Truly, wouldn’t you be tempted? Less than $5.00. Each. The little itty-biddy peak turned into a sneaky tap, then another, then finally a payment tap on the phone. I put $42.25 on my credit card for items I could use and were a bargain.
IT felt like my fingers were doing it automatically, wihoutt any directions from my brain.
IT never came. The deal that was too good to be true, was’t true. Weeks went by. I sent an email complaining, which was answered by another email encouraging me to be patient. I sent another email and got no response. Nor did I get my goods. Nor did I get me $42.25 back. All contact vanished.
ANYONE else having these problems involving their phone? Or am I alone on this ?
I love my phone but it is swallowing up heaps of my time. And a fair chunk of my money,
ARE their meetings for my addiction? Maybe hypnosis would help. But my phone is out of control and I need to harness it, somehow.
