Yesterday I took a day off from running around and just stayed home with some small chores and a good book. I looked around and found a number of things that were gathering dust from not being used. Here they are.
Pickle ball paddles, shoes, and balls, all inside a specially bought carrying case.
I thought I was going to join the army of pickle ballers. Forgot that the connection between my brain and feet is very slow and the ball frequently flies over my head before my feet move.
Vacuum sweeper
Cleaning ladies are so much easier. Haven’t used vacuum in four months. Still has labels on. Besides, I don’t want to fill it up with dirt because I don’t know how to empty it.!! And I don'[t want to learn.
Various cans of food in cupboard; beets, saurkraut, and red pepers in oil plus a tin of anchovies. I hid these things behind dog food (I don’t have a dog) and pineapple chunks. I eat out a lot. I wanted to make sure I would never be hungry. But sauerkraut?
An amazon dress that has a beautiful color combination.
But it looks a Kmart buy, cheap and nasty. I keep it hanging in the guest bathroom for decoration until I decide to make it disappear forever and not feet guilty.
A brass lamp faded to dark brown.
I intended to use one of those Google remedies with salt, vinegar and whatever, to bring the brass back t gleaming life. But now I’m used to it that faded brown-don’t-know-what’s- under-this-look is acceptable.
A micro dust wand, with many attachments to reach hard to get at places.
Hard to get to places in my home can’t be seen by anyone. Why bother?
A back up external disk, sitting on my desk next to the computer screen.
I don’t know how to use it. Yes, I insert the usb, then what?
Magnesium 2000 capsules. Four bottles of it.
I forget what part of the body It aids. Need to donate to someone more health aware. Taking up too much room.
Workout clothes, including tights, running bra, and T-shirts.
I’ve successfully avoided the gym for 4 months and I’m very happy. Too old to worry about spongy muscles and my chicken wings under arms aren’t going to change, no matter how many weights I lift! Will no longer invest in athletic wear.
Raincoat and umbrella, a lovely matching set of maroon with white polka dots.
I don’t know why everyone is so afraid of getting a little wet. No one dies from being a bit damp. They are never near me when it storms. Good to keep them clean and unused.
Stepstool, with a high back for steady myself.
When did I plan on using this? Painting ceilings? Dusting crown molding? I haven’t had to reach that high yet.
Golf clubs. A full set resting in the spare room closet.
I don’t live any where near a golf course and can’t imagine taking the clubs on a public bus to access a course.
Statement necklaces in clunky imitation gold, silver Cleopatra – like necklace, bold necklace with a lot of glass stones.
Well, everyone else was wearing them!! But every time I put one on, it lookied ugly and drew attention to my turkey neck.
Horrid plastic greenery, with white tips. Rigid, lime toned, and thorny looking.
Too ugly to look at — ever!! Should be kept in high, dark shelf of closet.
Steve Madden platform heels, at least 3 inches with a leather cuff. Multi colored.
What was I thining?
Now that I’ve been unashamedly truthful with you, and totally ignoring Marie Condi, what is in YOUR home, gathering dust?
Com’on now, be honest!!
Cheers
Evelyn
